What to do before traveling to St Maarten

For all passengers entrance to St Maarten :

Complete the EHAS form (We recommend to start 3 days prior - result can take at least 24 hours) on this link: https://stmaartenehas.com/application-form/

Passengers will receive an email accepting or denying their request prior to their departure. Forms incorrectly completed will be automatically rejected so you will need to resubmit.

Fully vaccinated passengers with or without booster shot received: No mandatory test

Last Vaccination and or Booster shot should be at least 2 weeks. old and not exceed 9 months since administered

Fully vaccinated passengers 5 yrs. and older without booster shot:

48 hrs. Rt-PCR or 24 hr. Ag test required

Children 0 to 5 yrs. No mandatory test

Non-vaccinated passengers 5 yrs. and older :

Negative PCR test within 48 hours before departure (antigen test within 24hrs ) *Must be naso-pharyngeal swab.

*Oro-pharygeal swab accepted for children aged from 5 to 10 years old

All non- fully vaccinated and those with a past Covid-19 infection older than 9 months, are required to have a negative Covid-19 test in accordance with the required type of test.

Results from covid-19 collection home test kits will not be accepted.

*Travelers who have recovered from a Covid-19 infection within 9 months before departure must upload one of the below acceptable proof of recovery:

  • A government / public health authority issued proof of recovery (Digital Covid Recovery Certificate or letter)

  • A lab issued positive covid-19 PCR test result also indicating a Ct value of 35 or higher.

  • A signed and stamped Covid-19 recovery letter from a physician accompanied by the positive Covid-19 PCR test result.

Every traveler is required to register on EHAS (even residents or those in transit)

We recommend to start 3 days prior to your trip to receive approval. A $30 Protection plan fee will be applied during registration per adult. Plan covers medical evacuation. *Residents and transit passengers are exempted from Protection plan fee.

  1. The test result should clearly specify the name of the laboratory, test subject name, test date, type of test administered and how the test sample was obtained. Typed, written or e-mail statements from doctors or non-laboratories will not be accepted.The Electronic Health Authorization Application Form must be completed in order to be processed. Non-completed applications will be automatically deleted within a day after the provided travel date. If health authorization is pre-approved, you will receive a (printable) authorization via e-mail, which must be presented to the health and immigration authorities upon arrival. The original tests result should be presented to the health authorities upon request. Note: At times, the online system may malfunction and decline authorization. If you receive a denial, please re-submit until approved. Approvals are provided usually about 1 to 5 hours after submission during business hours. They may take up to 24 hours if submitted after hours.

  2. During the registration process, St Martin requires guests to purchase a Visitor Protection Plan that provides medical insurance and evacuation coverage for COVID. The cost is a one time fee of $30 for travelers 15 and older. For children 14 and under the cost is $10. To learn more about the protection plan, please visit https://www.sxmprotectionplan.com/

Double vaccination but without Booster:

  1. At this time no Negative COVID Test is required. Last Vaccination (or Booster shot) should be at least 2 weeks. old and not exceed 9 months since administered

St Martin Covid Testing Centers

At Airport Testing

The Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) has launched its first COVID-19 Test Center in a collaborative effort with the local Healthcare Lab.

  • Offers rapid Antigen tests before check-in for a flight. Results in 15 minutes.

  • Walk in testing available.

  • Cost is $110

  • Times: 11 AM to 4 PM

The new temporary testing facility opened on Saturday March 20, 2021 and is stationed within a tent structure with the assigned medical professionals at-hand. The COVID-19 Test Center was erected on the Airport’s external compound and is adjacent to the employee parking area (East of the Terminal Building).

In Villa Testing

Isle Blue and St Martin Blue can arrange in villa testing at most villas (select villas may not be applicable). In villa testing ranges between $65-125 per person and depends on the villa and management company.

Clinics and Testing Centers

  • Offers rapid Antigen tests. Results in 15 to 30 minutes.

Do not go to the laboratory to collect your results. No information or appointment will be given by telephone or on site at the laboratories.

Guidelines While on St Martin

There are no border closures between St Martin (French side) and St Maarten (Dutch side). Guests can freely travel around the island

The mandatory use of face mask within the terminal and FBO buildings have been updated to “voluntary use of face masks”.

Protocol measures may require that guests show proof of vaccination to enter enclosed areas such as restaurants, shops, bars
