Beach recommendations

Updated over a week ago

You will hear that the best beaches are near Palma and along the eastern coastal areas, however, there are a few gems that should not be missed. Though they may take some work to find, they are well worth the effort as most are uncrowded or even frequently empty, and provide you with scenery that is nearly impossible to match anywhere else on the island. These include:

Cala Figuera: A Stunning Cove in Formentor

Cala Figuera is a spectacular cove: when you see it for the first time from the road that goes to the Formentor Lighthouse, your jaw just drops. Everything about Cala Figuera is perfect: it’s size, the blue of its waters, the amazing landscape that surrounds it and, above, its secluded location.

Cala Agulla Beach in Mallorca

Cala Agulla is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca. If you visit this beach on the northeast coast, you will find crystal clear, turquoise waters and 500m of fine white sand. The cove is easy to access and is in a great location. All this makes Cala Agulla a regular feature on numerous lists of beaches in Mallorca that you cannot miss.

Es Trenc Beach: The Most Complete Visitors’ Guide

Es Trenc Beach in Mallorca is one of the most famous, most beautiful and most recommended beaches in Mallorca. So as you can imagine, it is also one of the most visited beaches in Mallorca. With its crystal clear waters and fine sand, it is an excellent plan during the summer to spend a day at the beach. A visit to Es Trenc Beach can also be combined with some activities in the surroundings, which we will explain too.

Cala Llombards Beach

Cala Llombards is one of the best beaches in Mallorca. Located in the southeast of the island, in the Santanyí area, this beach is one of Mallorca’s best kept secrets. In Cala Llombards you will find crystal clear waters, fine sand, a beach bar, incredible views and great places to snorkel. It is a cove that is often ranked as one of the best beaches in Mallorca, so hurry, because it will soon be as popular as Es Trenc or Es Calo des Moro beaches.

Cala Blanca in Mallorca

Cala Blanca is a beach with crystalline waters that belongs to the municipality of Andratx. It is a small gravel and sand beach located in a natural environment and surrounded by cliffs, with a backdrop of trees that offer some shade on sunny days.

Es Coll Baix Beach: Visit a Unique Cove in Mallorca

Es Coll Baix Beach is the hidden corner that everyone wants to visit on their holidays. But which no one knows how to get to! It is the perfect example of the beautiful coves and beaches that we have in Mallorca. Es Coll Baix is a virgin beach, protected by high cliffs and a pine forest. It is not easy at all to get to Es Coll Baix, which probably saves it from overcrowding, but in return for your effort, you will find a little paradise.

Cala Varques

Years ago, Cala Varques was known as the ideal beach if you wanted to visit a virgin beach away from all the hustle and bustle, the overcrowding and the stress of everyday life.

Cala Varques is still a virgin beach… But, other than that, things have changed. As it gained popularity, it went from being that cove where there were only a few people, to a crowded cove, with all that that entails. Is Cala Varques worth visiting? Sure, but you won’t be alone, and there’s a hike to get there.

Cala Torta: A Hidden Paradise in a Nature Reserve

Cala Torta is a one of the few true paradise beaches left in Mallorca. Located in a protected nature reserve, its fine white sand, its crystalline waters and its preserved natural landscapes all make it a unique and special place.

These are just a few of the many stunning beaches you can discover on the east coast of Mallorca. Each one offers its own unique charm and natural beauty, so be sure to explore as many as you can!
