British Virgin Islands Ferry Services

Having flown into St Thomas (STT) in the USVIs, consider traveling to the islands of Tortola and Virgin Gorda in the BVIs via the comprehensive ferry services :

Travel between the BVIs and the USVIs

(schedules subject to change, please check with the service providers)

NOTE: As of 1 Jan 2025 the paper Immigration and Customs form will no longer be used for entry. New online Immigration & Customs form - visitors may complete this form starting 36 hours prior to arrival into the British Virgin Islands. It may also be filled out after purchasing your ferry ticket at the ferry terminal.

Please visit https://bviedcard.gov.vg/es to register and be guided for your arrival into the British Virgin Islands.

Create New or Search for Existing Immigration and Customs Form.
Choose your Language.
Choose Resident or Visitor (Visitor and Resident forms vary)
Choose arriving by Sea (unless arriving by air).
Add the Vessel Name / Ferry Company / Vessel Registration Number* | Country of Embarkation : US Virgin Islands | Port of Embarkation: Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook or Cruz Bay etc. Select and/or fill in all remaining required fields.
*Note : Vessel Registration Number is the abbreviation of the ferry company name, (i.e Smiths Ferry Services = SFS), then the time of your embarkation (i.e. 4:00pm. = 400). The complete "registration number" (got example : SFS400)
Personal Information & Contact Information - Fill in all required fields
Travel Information - Select and/or fill in all required fields. Note : The "Upload photo of Bio" field, please take a photo with your phone of your passport photo page.
Destination Information - Select and/or fill in all required fields
Customs Information - Select and/or fill in all required fields
SUBMIT - You will receive an email at the email address you supplied. Immigration & Customs will also received your information and able to refer to it when you enter/clear into the BVI upon arrival.

When arriving at the ferry dock to purchase your tickets, you will be notified which ferry company is scheduled for that day and time.
